Point Aux Barques Lighthouse by Margaret M. Glinke

"The Point of the Little Boats" marks the turning point from Lake Huron into Saginaw Bay and to warn mariners of the shallow waters along this coast. A shipwreck museum is in the newly restored house located north of Port Hope and the tip of the Michigan "Thumb".

The original lighthouse was a stone building. The tower is 89' fall and remains in service and is automated and unmanned. Huron County maintains the property as a park and campground during summer months. (1857)

Original hand colored, framed in double mat in white washed oak frame
18" x 24" $325.00.
Also available as a print.

The quality of the Margaret Glinke's fine art is much higher than we can show within limits of this web site. Slight tonal changes and blurring around the areas of strong contrast are a result of the JPEG compression process, and are not part of the high quality originals.
